At the suggestion of a high-ranking member of Chicago’s Ukrainian Community, I traveled to Washington, D.C. to cover four days of events surrounding the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. On Sunday, I attended a reception at Ukrainian House, and then witnessed the candlelight vigil in front of the Russian Embassy. In a subsequent post, I will discuss Monday and Tuesday’s lobbying effort.

Here are my thoughts from the weekend, together with my images.
