While I was in New York last week, Matthew Perry (aka Chandler Bing) died. While photographing the Halloween decorations in the West Village, I also visited the intersection of Bedford and Grove streets, the location of the building where the six friends resided and frolicked. I spent Saturday at a rally outside the Brooklyn Museum, followed by a march that shut down the Brooklyn Bridge. By far the most newsworthy aspect of the day was the Hassidic Jews who marched with the Palestinian Community because the they believe Israel is in the wrong. While headed north from the Lower East Side, I found myself in New York City’s Union Square today, where about 25 demonstrators were holding a rally in support of Peruvian President Pedro Castillo Terrones, who was ousted from office and imprisoned during a December 7, 2022 coup.
