Streaks

"Streaks" is today's world.  The sky had some interesting dark streaks running through it.  This is most pronounced in the space between the Wrigley Building and Trump Tower, but the upper sky also had dark streaks.  Unfortunately my sensor had streaks of dust--not just spots--so it took some effort to remove the spots and streaks.  The sensor gets cleaned tomorrow.

This photograph provides evidence of poor urban planning that has a lasting and visible impact on the skyline.  The building behind the Wrigley is an apartment building--we looked at living there when I first moved to Chicago.  It desecrates the Wrigley's lines.

It was cold today--27F or so--but when the temperature has been regularly in the fifties and sixties, 27F feels colder that it usually does.

At 10PM, I will have to watch CBS 2 News.  Right next to my tripod was the CBS 2 weather BMW.  As is usually the case, the camera guy recording footage was friendly--a kindred spirit.  He certainly was smarter than I was, taking breaks to warm up in the car.

Pictured below is the NBC Tower, built in the art deco style. It is still another of the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designs that dot the Chicago skyline.  Completed in 1989, the architect paid homage to 30 Rockefeller Center with this limestone and granite structure.  I did a TV interview in the studios located in the building several years ago, discussing the charities affiliated with Chicago professional sports teams.

To the left of the NBC Tower is the Gleacher Center, where I am currenlty  enrolled in the University of Chicago's four-year Great Books program.  This photograph was one of the first ones I made.  With about 20 minutes the sky turned much darker, as the photograph of the Wrigley Building reveals.
